Sending Luggage from the Airport to Your Hotel in Japan
You land in the morning, but hotel check-in is not until the afternoon. Visiting the hotel just to leave a suitcase can mean a detour from the places you want to go. Airport-to-hotel luggage delivery can help on arrival day. But delivery is not always on the same day. Ask about arrival time before comparing prices.

Same-day delivery or a later arrival
Same-day availability depends on the airport, carrier, acceptance time and destination. Yamato Transport offers same-day delivery when the counter, deadline and delivery-area requirements are met. Regular TA-Q-BIN may arrive the next day or later. Narita Airport has several delivery operators, each with its own conditions. Check the airport’s counter information before departure, then show your accommodation details and ask for the delivery date at the counter.
For example, Yamato’s airport delivery guide lists an 11 am drop-off deadline for same-day service from Haneda to its covered hotel areas. Landing before 11 am is not enough: you still need to clear immigration, collect the bag and reach the counter. Other carriers have different coverage and deadlines, so check the service you will actually use rather than treating “same-day” as an airport-wide promise.

Keep what you need tonight with you
Put medication, chargers and a change of clothes for the first day in your small bag so next-day delivery does not leave you without them. Keep valuables such as your passport and wallet too. Check the contents again once the counter has told you the expected arrival date.
Hotel reception before check-in
Accommodation may set conditions for receiving bags before check-in. Unstaffed properties and private rentals may find this difficult, so ask your booked property in advance. Use the same name as the accommodation reservation on the delivery form, and add a booking reference if requested.
Best for days when you want to skip the hotel detour
Delivery lightens the journey if you want to go straight sightseeing from the airport or have several family suitcases. If the hotel lies on your route and can take the bags immediately, carrying them yourself may be simpler. If only next-day delivery is available, decide from your first-day plans and what you need to carry.
This serves a different purpose from sending luggage between hotels. Choose it when it reduces an arrival-day detour.
